IQ Phys auf der Medica 2007
Am Samstag, den 17. November 2007 hat Christina Groll (Bsc physioth.) im Rahmen des Physiotherapie-Forums auf der Medica in Düsseldorf einen Vortrag zum Projekt IQ Phys gehalten. An diesem Tag wurde das Forum von dem Bundesverband der selbstständigen Physiotherapeuten - IFK e.V. gestaltet, der Kooperationsparntern des Projekts IQ Phys ist.

erfolgreicher IQ Phys Kongress am 15.06.07
Eine spannende und interessante Fachtagung zum Thema
"IQ Phys und CPTE - Fortbildung ohne Präsenz" hat Dank der nationalen und internationalen ReferentInnen und den TeilnehmerInnen am 15. Juni 2007 an der Fachhochschule Osnabrück stattgefunden.
Alle waren sich einig, dass die Physiotherapie und die Professionalisierung des Berufstandes von dem
Projekt IQ Phys und der Entwicklung von
CPTE-Artikeln profitieren wird.

Präsentation von IQ Phys auf dem physiokongress 2007

Auf dem 3. physiokongress, der vom 17.05.-19.05.07 in Aachen stattgefunden hat, wurde das Projekt IQ Phys den Kongressbesuchern präsentiert.
Prof. Dr. Christoff Zalpour stellte zunächst das Projekt mit seiner Zielsetzung und den Hintergründen dar. Anschließend skizzierte er den Projektablauf und präsentierte die Ergebnisse.
Christina Groll (BSc physioth.) berichtete über die bisherigen Publikationen von CPTE-Artikeln in der Physiotherapie, Zeitschrift des Bundesverbandes selbstständiger Physiotherapeuten - IFK e.V. und präsentierte die Evaluationsergebnisse.
Weiterhin wurden die Ergebnisse der CPTE- Artikel in dem physio.Refresher der physiopraxis von Andrea Niesert (BSc physioth.) vorgestellt. Sie zeigte außerdem die Auswertung einer online-Umfrage auf der Thieme homepage zum physio.Refresher und der neuen Form der Fortbildung wie sie im Rahmen des Projektes IQ Phys entwickelt wurde.
Zum Abschluss hielt Manfred Lange einen Vortrag zur Fortbdilungspflicht und stellte einen Bezug zum aktuellen Projekt her.
Im Anschluss an die Vorträge, die von Daniela Oettinger moderiert wurden, entwickelte sich eine interessante und zukunftsweisende Diskussion mit den Zuhörern.

In der Mai-Ausgabe der Physiotherapie, Fachmagazin des Bundesverbandes selbstständiger Physiotherapeuten - IFK e.V. ist der insgesamt vierte CPTE-Artikel erschienen. Diesmal wird das Thema "
Mögliche Dysfunktionen des Kiefergelenks - Darstellung funktioneller Zusammenhänge und Vernetzungen" von Monika Knust (BSc physioth.) näher beleuchtet.
Die Autorin hat sich unter anderem in ihrer Bachelor-Arbeit mit dieser Problematik beschäftigt, wofür ihr auch der erste Preis des IFK Wissenschaftpreises 2006 verliehen wurde. Außerdem arbeitet Monika Knust täglich in der Praxis mit Patienten, die eine CMD aufweisen. Dadurch ist es ihr gelungen einen praxisnahen CPTE-Artikel zu schreiben, der die Tätigkeiten jedes Physiotherapeuten bereichern wird.
Mitmachen lonht sich wieder doppelt!
Neben der Erweiterung des eigenen Wissens und der Fähigkeiten, kann man bei erfolgreicher Teilnahme auch ein
Fortbildungskurs "Funktionelle faszilitierende Taping-Techniken" beim IFK gewinnen.

ENPHE Konferenz in Sofia
Vom 22. März bis zum 24. März 2007 fand die diesjährige Frühjährskonferenz von ENPHE in Sofia, Bulgarien statt.
ENPHE steht für "European Network of Physiotherapy in Higher Education" und ist ein Zusammenschluss der (akademischen) Physiotherapie der europäischen und an Europa angrenzenden Länder.
Die Konferenz an der National Sports Academy in Sofia wurde zu dem Thema "Quality management in competence-based physiotherapy education" veranstaltet und bot ein sehr interessantes
Programm.
Christina Groll (BSc physioth.) stellte in einem Vortrag das Projekt IQ Phys vor und
Prof. Dr. Christoff Zalpour präsentierte die Ergebnisse der didaktisch-methodischen Evaluation der CPTE-Artikel.

Insgesamt gab es sehr positive Reaktionen und starkes Interesse an dem Projekt IQ Phys.
C. Groll (BSc physioth.): IQ PHYS – QUALITY ASSURANCE AND MANAGEMENT IN CONTINUING PT EDUCATION

Abstract
Purpose and relevance of the report:
The physiotherapy education ist not finished by completing one´s degree, but rather a life-long process. But learning may take place in a variety of ways and is not limited to attendance at formal courses. Therefore the aim of IQ Phys is to develop a concept of managing continuing education without presence.
It ist relevant to point out a new way of being on the state of the art to improve the quality of patient treatment.
Discription of the thesis:
IQ Phys is a project to assure the quality in physiotherapy by building up a new way of continuing education. In the context of IQ Phys are special articels published, called CPTE-articles (continuing physiotherapy education) in two different physiotherapy journals. Physiotherapists can read these texts and answer ten questions to show that they expand or refresh their knowledge. Those texts deal with basic knowledge like physiology, anatomy and other theoretical themes like communication or clinical reasoning. Furthermore the articels are about topics, which result in upgrading the competences of physiotherapists.
Both authors and articles have to fulfill certain quality criteria to be suitable for IQ Phys. These criteria are proved by an assessment, who are developed specific for CPTE-articels.
Evaluation and conclusion:
At that time there are two CPTE-articels published and the data of 200 participants are evaluated. The aspect that about a half of the particiants pass the examination and a half do not pass, shows that they really have to understand the texts. There are used different type of questions: one type asks for facts the reader can find in the article and one type requests, if the participant is able to transfer the new knowledge to alternativ problems. The evaluation shows that the most mistakes are done by the second type of question.
Until now there is a small amount of data, but there will be two more articels published and evaluated by the ENPHE Conference in March 2007.

Prof. Dr. C. Zalpour: EVALUATION OF AN ASSESSMENT CHECKING THE QUALITY OF TEXTS IN BASIC AND CONTINUING PT EDUCATION

Abstract
Purpose and relevance of the research:
Both the basic pt education and the continuing education are using texts as medium of teaching and it is important to prove the quality of these with an adequate assessment. However, not all of the texts are qualified for learning and that is the reason for developing a checklist as an assessment to filter out suitable texts.
This survey should show that the outcome of the checklist is identic with the evaluation by readers of the texts.
Subjects of the research and research methods:
Special texts, written for continuing physiotherapy education are evaluated by six physiotherapists with the checklist. Two of them are editors, one professor, one scientific assistant and two autonoumes physiotherapists, who are also working for a federal association. These texts are published in two physiotherapy journals and the readers should answer ten questions to show that they understand the content and they answer a methodical-didactical questionaire. The readers are German physiotherapists, who represent different levels of working experience and education. The evaluation with the checklist and the results of the questionaire are compared.
Analysis and conclusion:
So far (before deadline of application) there are two CPTE-articels (continuing physiotherapy education) published. The articels have to be evaluated with more than 70 from 100 points by the checklist, otherwhile they do not fulfill the criteria to be published. The analysis of the methodical-didactical questionaire and the comparison with the results of the checklist are in progress. It will be finished for at least four articels by the ENPHE Conference in March 2007.
